Artik region is situated in volcanic rocks by the mountain range of Aragats from the northwest part of Shirak region and the territory is 481,2 square km., the major part of them is on 1600 height above sea level. This region is rich with construction materials.

City Artik and 23 agricultural communities are in this region.

Economy of region:

Here basically agriculture and building industry is developed. In agriculture animal breeding and bee keeping are more developed. Grain, eating and vegetable cultures are growing. Food industry basically specialized on production of meat and tobacco products. Building industry is specialized in mining construction materials of pink tuff, diatomite and basalt.

Export evaluation:

There are great reserves for extension of meat, milk and construction materials. It is more expedient to extend the production of meat, lather and wool and as well processing stone and production of construction materials.
